Energy Software at ERMSAR 2026: Presentation of the SUAM Methodology

18/06/2026

Last May, we had the pleasure of participating in the 12th edition of ERMSAR (European Review Meeting on Severe Accident Research), held in Madrid from May 18 to 22. This is a leading conference in the field of nuclear safety, focused on severe accident research. You can find more information about the event on its official website: https://ermsar2026.com/.

Our colleagues Rafael Bocanegra and Marina Pérez attended the conference, where Rafael presented an application of the SUAM (Stepwise Uncertainty Analysis Methodology). This methodology introduces a new approach to uncertainty analysis in severe accident scenarios. It began to take shape during our involvement in the European HORIZON-2020 MUSA project and in the IAEA CRP I31033, and has since been further developed and consolidated with the support of the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) through an R&D&I funding program.

We highly value our participation in the conference, both for the quality of the studies presented and for the feedback and questions we received following our presentation. This exchange will be extremely valuable as we continue advancing the development and consolidation of SUAM.
